Dentures are an excellent solution for those missing some or all of their teeth. Mimicking the look of teeth and gums, dentures provide the look of a natural, complete your smile. Fitting snugly onto your gums for a seamless fit during the day, dentures are removable so that they can be thoroughly cleaned to prevent gum disease and bad breath.

Made of hard-wearing materials that can withstand the forces of biting, chewing and speaking, dentures might feel unusual for the first few weeks after fitting. However, they can be customised for your complete comfort and satisfaction, with our dental experts being able to help you choose the shape and shade of the teeth attached. If you require a denture to fit around existing teeth, we have the appropriate knowledge and technology to accurately colour-match your denture to your natural teeth, for an undetectably natural look.

Cleaning your denture carefully is vitally important for the longevity of your denture, and for your oral health. While dentures are removable, which makes them easier to achieve a thorough clean, it is important to remember to maintain your dental routine to ensure your gums are also free from bacteria, decay and infection. Our specialist hygienists will be happy to show you how to properly care for your dentures and gums at a dental hygiene appointment, where they can even advise you of the latest tools and brushes that have been specifically developed to help you maintain great dental health.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dentures are removable prosthetic devices that are used to replace missing teeth. Being supported by the soft gum tissue in the mouth, dentures are temporarily fixed with a specialist adhesive bond, that can be removed to thoroughly clean the appliance. Dentures are custom-built for all patients at Peach Dental Care, and can be safely and effectively used on the lower and upper jaw.

After a thorough examination and x-rays of your jawbones, our experienced dental practitioners can effectively determine what type of denture is right for you, and discuss your options with you. If our dental team recommends a full denture, impressions of your mouth will be taken so that your denture can be custom-made for a snug, comfortable fit. We can then assess your natural bite, to help us construct a denture that will function properly for eating, chewing and talking, without causing yourself or the denture any damage. We can then discuss enamel colouring and tooth sizing for your denture, which can be matched to your existing teeth. Over the course of a few appointments, you’ll be required to try a try-in denture, which is made of wax and helps us to finetune the fit of your final appliance. Once your denture has been completed, you’ll be required to attend an appointment at Peach Dental Care so we can ensure it’s fit and function, before attending follow-up appointments where you can raise any concerns or queries about living with your unique denture.

The type of denture you require affects the overall cost, including whether you need a full or partial denture, and what materials it is made from. Our specially qualified dentists will be able to discuss the options available to you at your initial consultation, to give you a more accurate quote. Partial Acrylic Dentures cost from £400; Full Acrylic Dentures start at £695;  Flexi Dentures start at £750; and Metal Chrome Dentures cost from £895.

Our exceptionally experienced dental team use state-of-the-art technology and techniques to ensure that all of our dentures are not only built for appearance and function, but also that all consultations and examinations are thorough to provide the safest, most comfortable result.
